PIIF Investment Conference 2026

The Pacific Islands Investment Forum members came together in Nadi, Fiji across 25–26 August for the 2026 PIIF Investment Conference, hosted by BSP Life. The main focus of the two-day conference was progressing the PIIF co-investment platform and developing a regional pipeline of investment opportunities for member Funds. A significant milestone for the PIIF was the formal signing of the partnership agreement with the United Nations Joint SDG Fund to support the development of the first Pacific co-investment platform. The agreement was signed by PIIF Chairman and Vanuatu National Provident Fund CEO Paul Kaun and United Nations Resident Coordinator Karla Hershey. The partnership will support PIIF members to establish the structure of the platform, develop investment opportunities for member Funds, and strengthen investment skills, resources and governance across the region. The official opening also included an address from Fiji Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Manoa Kamikamica, who spoke on the importance of Pacific Funds working together and the opportunities that greater regional cooperation can provide.

Across the two days, members worked through the structure of the co-investment platform, investment team appointments, policies and objectives, and the development of the regional investment pipeline. Members also heard from BSP Life on its investment pipeline, New Zealand Super Fund on its direct investment approach, and Australian Retirement Trust on impact and sustainable investment opportunities. The conference provided dedicated breakout and networking sessions for Funds and partners to progress investment opportunities, key issues and relationships. The work completed in Fiji builds on the co-investment discussions and development undertaken by PIIF members over recent years, with the focus now moving toward establishing the platform and progressing investment opportunities across the Pacific.
